Adobe and Google have expanded their partnership to integrate Google’s AI models directly into Adobe’s creative suite, while introducing new YouTube Shorts creation tools for mobile users. The collaboration addresses the long-standing problem of vendor lock-in in creative software, giving users access to multiple AI models within their existing workflows rather than forcing them to switch between different platforms.

What you should know: Google’s most advanced AI models are now embedded across Adobe’s entire creative ecosystem.
• Gemini, Veo, and Imagen model families are available in Adobe Firefly, Photoshop, Express, Premiere, and GenStudio.
• Enterprise customers can customize these models with proprietary brand data using Vertex AI and Firefly Foundry to maintain brand consistency.
• The integration was announced at Adobe Max 2025 as part of coordinated go-to-market activities between the companies.

Why this matters: The partnership tackles the costly problem of vendor lock-in that has forced consumers and companies to navigate complex, siloed creative ecosystems.
• “Our partnership with Google Cloud combines Adobe’s creative DNA with Google’s AI models to usher in a new era of creative expression for creators and creative professionals,” Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen explained.
• Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian said integrating Google’s models into Adobe’s “trusted creative ecosystem” gives “everyone… the AI tools and platforms they need to dramatically speed up content creation.”

New YouTube integration: A dedicated ‘Create for YouTube Shorts’ feature is coming to Adobe’s Premiere mobile app to streamline short-form video production.
• The tool enables content creators to quickly jump on emerging and popular trends with AI-generated audio and visual effects.
• Users can create vertical videos optimized for YouTube Shorts directly within the mobile editing environment.
• “Our goal at YouTube is to meet creators where they are and give everyone the tools they need to make storytelling easier and connect with their audiences,” YouTube Engineering VP Scott Silver shared.

The big picture: This collaboration represents a shift toward true interoperability in creative software, where users can access best-in-class AI models without being locked into a single vendor’s ecosystem.
