Google Labs has launched Pomelli, a free AI-powered tool that creates marketing campaigns for small businesses using only their website URL as input. The experiment, developed in collaboration with Google DeepMind, addresses the common challenge of limited advertising budgets and resources that small-to-medium-sized businesses face when trying to establish their brand presence.

How it works: Pomelli analyzes a business’s website to create what Google calls a “Business DNA” profile that captures the company’s unique brand identity.

  • The tool examines website images, colors, fonts, and content to identify tone of voice, color palettes, and visual elements that define the brand.
  • Users can generate logos, taglines, and brand values based on this automated analysis.
  • The platform then creates campaign ideas automatically, eliminating what Google describes as the “laborious process of brainstorming unique ad campaigns.”

Key features: The tool generates comprehensive marketing assets across multiple platforms while allowing for customization.

  • Pomelli produces content for social media, websites, and advertisements based on the Business DNA profile.
  • Users can edit generated assets by changing images, headers, fonts, color palettes, descriptions, and calls to action.
  • Business owners can input their own campaign ideas as prompts if they prefer a more hands-on approach.

Availability and limitations: The tool is currently available as a public beta experiment with geographic and language restrictions.

  • Pomelli is accessible in the US, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand.
  • The platform operates exclusively in English at this time.
  • As a Google Labs experiment, the tool’s long-term availability and feature set may evolve.

Competitive landscape: Pomelli enters a growing market of AI-powered advertising tools from major tech companies.

  • Amazon recently released an AI agent that creates advertisements from start to finish.
  • Adobe launched AI Foundry earlier this month, which allows companies to fine-tune image and video generation models using their own intellectual property to address copyright concerns.
