China’s new AI video tool claims to be the world’s most powerful
The race for AI video generation is heating up in China, and a major player has just stepped into the spotlight with some bold claims.
Quihow, one of China’s largest short video platforms and a main rival to ByteDance’s TikTok in China, recently unveiled Cling AI 2, which they’re confidently calling “the world’s most powerful AI video generator.” And they have some impressive numbers to back up their boast.
According to Quihow’s senior vice president Guy Kun, Cling AI has already attracted over 22 million users worldwide who have collectively generated more than 168 million video clips and 344 million images. Those are serious numbers that suggest this tool is gaining significant traction.
What makes Cling AI 2 stand out?
The new version boasts several improvements that matter in the competitive short-form video world:
- Better understanding of user prompts and instructions
- Higher quality images
- Smoother character movements
- More realistic aesthetic overall
- Punchier final content that grabs attention
Even before this update, third-party testing service Artificial Analysis ranked the previous Cling version at the top for image-to-video performance, second only to Google DeepMind’s V2 for text-to-video tasks.
The Chinese AI video landscape is crowded
The competition in this space is fierce, with ByteDance, Alibaba, Tencent, and specialized startups like Zepu AI and Shengshu Tech all developing their own AI models and features.
As Guy Kun puts it, the environment is a “run for life” that forces continuous innovation. Companies that pause risk being left behind quickly.
